Mr. J's reply to a concerned Senior Student

Thanks for taking the initiative and emailing the teachers with Senior School responsibilities.

My apologies to you, the Senior Students, and the librarians for this morning's situation in the library. The SSC 'social area' and resources room were also noisy and overcrowded, despite the reminders to students about the need to settle down and work.

You are indeed right: space for study is a major issue for Senior Students; and will be very much so until the end of September, when the Year 12 are not attending ToK lessons and need an appropriate place to work independently -- i.e.

Week 1: Monday, pd. 1 Thursday, pd. 3

Week 2: Tuesday, pd. 4 Thursday, pd. 2

The school is urgently looking into what can be done for the remaining lessons that may present this problem -- i.e.

  • Tuesday, Sept. 11 (pd. 4)
  • Thursday, Sept. 13 (pd. 2)
  • Monday, Sept. 17 (pd. 1)
  • Thursday, Sept. 20 (pd. 3)
  • Tuesday, Sept. 25 (pd. 4)

The way forward will be communicated to students via email and Bulletin notice.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, as we work together to find an appropriate solution.

Mr. Jabal
