It's not that we lose the ability to wonder, it's that we learn to accept reality as we grow older

In the process of growing up, we gain new experiences to make sense of the world around us. We'll understand that most of the time, we can't change the way the things are. What is made is made and what is done is done. As for the questions that curiosity and wonders have lead us to, we will learn and accept that most of the answers will be left unknown but this does not mean that we will stop craving for them. It takes time to look for unknown answers and we will only be able to find a satisfying answer when we are satisfied with life itself.

At some point of life, I agree to Albert Knox when he says, “It seems as if in the process of growing up we lose the ability to wonder about the world.” because we do start to forget that we have the ability to wonder but we can always regain it, very easily too. When we were infants, we would take our ability to wonder for granted because we learn and experience new things with no limit. However the older we get, we’ll realize the beauty to wonder because there’s a limit to nearly everything that we do especially when it comes to time. Our life will be filled with fixed daily routine, leaving us with no time to wonder about the things around us. Therefore, our ability to ‘wonder’ may be forgotten but everyone’s got their free will to wonder just whether we choose to do so or not they choose to, and we get time, it’s hard to avoid to wonder. For example, Sophie’s Grandmother, from the novel ‘Sophie’s World’, “never realized how rich life was” until she was ill. To many adults, showing their ability to wonder is like showing people you’re weak and many adults refuse to wonder intentionally because if not, we won't be able to survive living in this world. However to ‘wonder’ cannot be helped. Take me for example, I would wonder every day on different aspects of life especially my future, ‘what will I become?’ Sometimes I would stress on life so much that I’d wonder the point of life but I never wonder intentionally, it’s just natural human ability.

So in my opinion, we never lose the ability to wonder and we are naturally curious about everything around us. Just whether or not we choose to give in the time needed to wonder.
