The red tinted glasses are used as a metaphor, which illustrates how different people have different interpretation in perceiving the world but what we really perceive may be biased. When you look through the tinted glasses, everything you would see will be in red instead of the actual colours they are in which limit the way you perceive reality. The red glasses makes everything seen as red because it acts through a filter and literally changes what we see things as. However everything we see is part of the world around us but how we see is determined by the glasses we are wearing where individuals have their own idea of the world. As we get older, we have more knowledge about the world and the experiences we have already gone through give us a image of what things really are seen as and see it as what we perceive it to be. This metaphor explains how we perceive things differently from others but if we don’t take the chance to change it then we will never be able to see how things appear to other people as well.
The red tinted glasses shown by Knox tell us how we can use this to other things in the world to make a conclusion of our thoughts that is limited to the things that we can only perceive. Some people might think that the world is flat where others might think the world is round. Those who wear these glasses will only have one perspective where they will avoid what other people think of and just live with it. They won’t be able to know what other people are thinking of and will always think they are right which might be biased. However everyone who takes off the glasses would see other peoples view and how they think. Even though what other people think of is not the same as the individuals, they would realize that others have different views about the world.
This can be applied to ourselves where we cannot perceive the world as it really is but must look at it in a different way in a result by looking for more interpretations. For example some people might have seen a person they haven’t met as very mean, but if they got to know the person better, the person might be seen as very friendly where they have misinterpreted the information of a person. This shows us what we have seen may not be the same as actually experiencing it. In conclusion, we must be able to experience it before we perceive anything.

I agree with you when you say that the red tinted glasses act as a “filter and literally changes what we see things as.” I also agree with the fact that those who wear the glasses will have only one perspective of the world and won’t care to look at the world differently. They might not want to or they might even be afraid to be exposed to the reality of the world.
